Founders
Chris & David became great friends whilst both working in Oxford and are now teaming up as business partners to welcome you to Peppermill Bar & Kitchen.
David heads up the kitchen alongside head chef George, after many years away learning and developing his skills across 3 continents, he is delighted to bring his experience to Buntingford. He is classically trained and completed his 3-year apprenticeship in a renowned 5-star kitchen in Oxford. He will be the first to say this platform has given him the foundations, skills and passion to pursue his dream of having his own kitchen to be creative in. Most recently he has been sailing the seas working on some of the most exclusive private super yachts around the world where ‘perfection’ is the lowest level accepted. He strives under pressure and loves to see people enjoying his tasty creations influenced from flavours and cuisines from around the world.
Chris, originally from Stroud, heads up the front. Welcoming you into the relaxed timeless setting where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail or a glass of his carefully selected wines. Having run successful bars, pubs and restaurants over the years, Chris has extensive knowledge on wines, cocktails & service. Growing up in Gloucestershire, he first found his love for the food and drinks business whilst helping his Godfather at his restaurant café, working after school and over the holidays. He decided very early on this is the path he wanted to explore. Working at Jamie Oliver’s London Fifteen restaurant, England’s oldest café – The Grand Café in Oxford to general manager of Brunning & Price Parrot pub in the Surrey Hills, Chris brings his wealth of experience to make your evening one to remember.
